How to Unlearn & Relearn

I am on the journey of rebuilding myself. I have been asked so many times, 'How are you doing it?'

And the answer is, by reprogramming my brain. Sounds interesting, right!

So now the question is how can one reprogram their brain? Is that even possible! Yes, it is very much possible and it has been scientifically proven now. Thanks to neuroplasticity and epigenetics.

Rebuilding our brains consists of breaking down the old patterns and letting go of those that are not helping us anymore. It will be unfair if I say it's only rebuilding our brain; basically, it is rebuilding our life. Because our lives run over the base of our subconscious beliefs and patterns.

Unlearning those dysfunctional patterns and beliefs and adapting functional programming is the key to this process. For that, we need to understand where our dysfunction lies in the first place and where our faulty beliefs are sabotaging our own lives. Only then can we start the process of unlearning those. We are allowed to experiment here; we can go through trial and error with different versions of ourselves before finalizing a program, We can test its worthiness in this journey as well. In my journey, I got messed up sometimes, went through emotional or physical pain for days but that didn't stop me.

After unlearning, often a phase comes where we feel so blank! I remember that time of mine, it felt like I am a little baby, I'm looking at the world with those wondering eyes as if I'm seeing it for the first time. I am observing people with utmost curiosity just to understand 'how this life on earth thing works actually!' Haha, that sounds crazy, I know.

Affirmations help us a great deal to reprogram our brain at this stage. By now, you will find many sources and many people on the internet who you want to learn from, consume like you were starving for decades from their books, podcasts, social media accounts, and whatever you get in front of you. Don't be afraid, if you learn something crazy in the process, you can unlearn it again. You developed that skill already, remember! ;)

Meditation works like magic in this process. Meditation is basically a process of opening those doors of your subconscious mind and tapping into your subconscious. Most of our subconscious programming happens in early childhood and we kinda navigate our whole life blindly, relying on them. So tapping into the subconscious is the most effective way to reprogram our brain. And if you have a super active mind like me, which runs 5 different trains of thought simultaneously all the time, then meditation will change your life trust me. I will come up with my meditation tools and guided meditations very soon.

I can't ignore the effect of journaling in this process. And journaling will help you to have a brain vomit every now and then. Just writing down your running thoughts sometimes liberates your mind and gives it a break from that endless race. Your journals will be a best friend, a reflection of yourself and a guide in your healing journey at the same time. It will also keep the record of this magical journey in the process as a side effect. I can't tell you how many times I went back a few months and felt proud of myself for coming this far, this quick! Every page of your journal will be related to each other, just like the realizations and venting of today will become the source of unlearning the dysfunction within us and learning a new and healthy mindset for tomorrow through affirmations.
